A cinematographer with a serious love of filmmaking, I recently moved back to the West Coast after 3 years living and working in Singapore and Asia, and now work in Los Angeles shooting music videos, narrative shorts and commercial work. Especially interested in narrative feature and shorts, as well as independent sketch comedy, documentaries, and commercial work.
Professionally, I’ve found my calling as a Director of Photography after many years of gaffing/lighting larger features, and directing short films and documentaries on the side.
My gaffing career brought me to Sundance several times, and allowed me to work with numerous talented DPs and directors, including Stéphane Fontaine, Sean Porter, Chris Blauvelt, Ben Kasulke and Hilary Spera, as well as directors Lynn Shelton, Jeremy Saulnier, and Kelly Reichardt.
I started my career in film as a projectionist for the Seattle International Film Festival in the late ’90s, and fell in love with cinematography and the ever-evolving ways of capturing and displaying an image.
After film school in 2005, I worked as a gaffer for nearly a decade before shooting my first feature Almost Friends in 2016.
I love passion in your work – no matter what you’re doing – and strive for the ‘No Jerks Allowed’ policy on set.
